Thinking about goals can be exhausting. Well, not making the goal itself but thinking about the work that needs to be done (and the potential disappoint that may occur along the way) before you get to that goal. It is that in between phase that causes us to make goals and break them or stay away from making goals altogether. It is self-doubt that gets in the way from you reaching your goals. Mute those pestering “what-if” voices and mind gremlins so you can get to your reality. As Ralph Marston, big-timer professional football player in the 1920s, wisely points out: you have to subtract them from the picture in order to reach that end game. Trust yourself and gain some goal-reaching confidence with these tips: Balance the Negative: Drown out the negative mind gnats by replacing them with self-praise chants. This will push you through those hard hills or windy paths until you reach your goal. Take a Break: You won’t reach your goal in one week or even one month, so if you need to take a step away from a project and focus on something totally different then do it! This shift might re-inspire you to get back on the wagon with a fresh perspective. Connect with Inspiring People: When you can’t push on alone, get support from others. Friends, family or even healthy living blogs can guide you the rest of the way. So, see you at the finish line, guilt-free? How do you remove self-doubt? Share your thoughts below!
