Daily Bite [Say]: Change it Up via Albert Einstein

Make a Fitness Change

We know that doing the same thing over and over again and expecting change is insane. Albert Einstein pointed this out….

Insanity Quote via Albert Einstein

But even with this very clear truth slapping us in the face, we get comfortable in our same routine and keep lifting the same weights, running the same path and eating the same meal for breakfast every day while simultaneously complaining about how the weight is not coming off. Why do we do this instead of changing our strategy? Because it requires courage, discipline and wisdom to make a change out of your normal routine.

Instead of remaining insane in your trying-so-hard-but-clearly-not-working health path, we encourage you to make a change to your routine, but only if it is the right thing to do for your body. Consider these reasons to alter your fitness regimen:

1. Have you been doing your workout for an extended period of time? More importantly, have you been doing your workout routine the same way and not seen the results you want it to produce? Einstein has a point if this is the case.

2. Have your goals changed? If you were focusing on strength training before and now you want to lose weight or increase your cardio for an upcoming race, you need to adjust your routine. Make changes that reflect what you are working towards.

3. Is an outside force getting in the way of your fitness routine? If you got a new job or moved and your local gym is now out of your way, make a change so that you can fit in your fitness even if it means a change to your current  schedule.

4. Are you super, duper bored of the same old routine? Change it up! It is counter-productive to keep training the same way day in and day out. You will lose your motivation and your interest fast. Obviously we don’t want a change in your routine to mean that you quit! Ask a friend for some tips and incorporate some of their moves into your routine, take a class or sign up for a new program every few months. This should keep you inspired and healthy!

How often do you change your routine? Did Mr. Einstein inspire you to make a change?
