That’s right. Challenge yourself into not eating anything that comes in a package for one whole day. What does that leave me to eat? Well a lot. Go back to the cavemen days of a diet filled with fruits, veggies, eggs, meat, nuts, and healthy fats. We like to call this “plant-based” – whether you are a meat eater or not. A good tip for this kind of eating? Shop on the perimeter of the grocery store as packaged goods tend to concentrate themselves on the center aisles.

Many tend to reach for the cereal, the pre-made waffles, or the granola bars in the morning for an on-the-go breakfast. Make a smoothie instead, with blueberries, raspberries, banana, spinach and almonds for texture. For lunch, a great mixed salad with lemon and olive oil dressing makes for a light, energizing and filling lunch. Brew yourself a cup of herbal tea on the side.In the evening? Pan seared salmon, roasted broccoli and my favorite – tomato, cucumber, avocado salad with olive oil – makes for a perfect dinner. You might be hungry in between so always have a piece of fruit, nuts, or slices of lean meat to snack on, along with plenty of water to hydrate throughout the day!

This might be difficult at first, so make sure you do your proper planning and grocery shopping. While it may be an adjustment, even after one day you will be feeling remarkably lighter and better. With these results, you’ll want to test this out for a week, maybe a month!

Will you skip on packaged food for a day?
