6 Gym Bag Beauty Essentials

6 Beauty Essentials for your Gym Bag

After a sweaty workout a little bit of pampering may be needed—and we don’t just mean wiping your face with your sweat towel.

Stocking your gym bag with the right beauty items is important for gym hygiene because your local fitness center is a hotspot for germs and bacteria. Plus, your reflection will appreciate you having the right items on hand to do a little bit of grooming before you head off to work or out to dinner post-workout.

Here are the 6 beauty essentials you should stash in your gym bag:

1. Headband

Nothing is more frustrating than swiping your bangs out of your face in the middle of a rep. A good headband is an essential to prevent the annoyance of hair in your face but also to protect your strands from sweat and humidity. Purchase a headband made of 100% cotton. Natural fabrics have the ability to soak up that sweat and conceal gym hair.

2. Deodorant

Sweating is your body’s way to cool itself and eliminate toxins which is an all-natural way to beautify the skin. So choose a deodorant that has a strong scent, but is not an antiperspirant. Alcohol-free deodorants go on clear and don’t irritate your skin.

3. Body Wash

If you follow the rules of gym hygiene you are advised to have a quick shower before and after your sweat session. Germ prevention! Choose a body wash that can kill germs and moisturize you. If you are a morning exerciser choose a body wash that is energizing and if you hit up the gym after work pick a scent that is relaxing and relieves your muscle tension.

4. Dry Shampoo

If you don’t have the time to shower post-workout, dry shampoo is a must have. Dry shampoo soaks up sweat on your scalp leaving your hair looking, feeling and smelling clean.

5. Balancing Mist

Refresh your face after a butt kicking workout with a balancing mist. You can get that oh-so-refreshing feel and nourish and condition your skin in a single spray. We love Jurlique Rosewater Balancing Mist!

6. Moisturizer

Post-workout you are going to want to moisturize to hydrate your skin. If you don’t want to lug an entire bottle of lotion around purchase a travel size container that you can refill when needed.

  1. Ha! I SHOULD have these in my gym bag, but don’t. Why? I never shower at my gym and if I”m running from client to class to client it’s in the same clothes I’ve been in all day!

I did pick up a packet of deodorant wipes that I will sometimes use if it’s been a very sweaty workout.

Don’t get too close to me!
