You’ve already seen how Runtastic is more than just a running tracker. They recently teamed up with MyFitnessPal for a full week of balanced nutrition and exercise practices to get you prepared on your new healthy lifestyle, but now they are taking it one step further with their new app, Sleep Better.
The app is now available and has a wide array of features including a Smart Alarm, Moon Phase Tracking, Dream Notes, and Sleep Tracking. In addition to this, you can plug in certain variables (such as alcohol consumption, work outs, and stress) to more accurately discover what is affecting your sleep and sleep quality.
We love all these features not only because it is interesting information to track, but because it provides a much broader and more balanced view of your overall health. Whether its 5 hours or 8-10 hours (as it should be!) of sleep you get each night, that is a huge chunk of your day, and it says a lot more about your health than you might think.
According to Runtastic co-founder and CEO, Florian Gschwandter, she reiterates the same sentiment:
“If we’ve learned anything in recent years, it’s the importance of a balanced, 24-hour approach to overall health and fitness.”
In addition, Runtastic’s Sleep Better app will easily integrate with Apple iOS 8’s HealthKit, making all your fitness data easily retrievable.
Those are not the only pros, however, Sleep Better also promotes awareness and accountability in users’ everyday lives. If you are noticing a few habits that might be directly correlated to a rougher night of sleep, then you might be more keen to cut down on (or out) this habit. Examples include having caffeine too close to bed time, increased stress, and more. Visualizing all this data can only help you in the long run.
