Happy October everyone! The cold is ahead of us, which gives us all the more of an excuse to stay in for dinner and a movie. We decided to check out the new schedule on Netflix. As it turns out, there are a few new/old movies that we would love to watch this weekend. For this week’s dinner and a movie, let’s watch the releases on Netflix while whipping up some new recipes!
The Wedding Planner + Creamy White Bean Dip (via The Cozy Apron)
It is only the best guilty pleasure movie there is: The Wedding Planner. We know it is absolute crap, but it is sappy and lovely and Matthew McConnaughey is just so dreamy. Remember what the early 2000’s looked like by peering into the story of Jennifer Lopez falling in love with the man she is planning a wedding for. While you are trying to remember why you love this movie so much, dip some lightly toasted bread into this delicious bean dip.
Rain Man + Herb Chicken (via The Comfort of Cooking)
If you have never seen Rain Man this is the weekend we change that. Tom Cruise plays a pompous prep who learns his brother inherited more money than he did after their father’s death. The two take a cross-country trip together and learn more about each other than the value of a dollar. We are keeping it simple but flavorful with this recipe. Try out an herb chicken with any sides you like!

Django Unchained + Banana Caramel Cream Dessert (via Glorious Treats)
Quentin Tarantino’s controversial Django Unchained has finally made the Netflix list. With an all-star cast, this modern western is sure to make you laugh with its unfiltered humor. Settle in for this flick (it is a very long one) with some Banana Caramel Cream dessert. We guarantee you will be taking second helpings of this one!
