Daily Bite [Watch]: Senior Citizen Zumba Flash Mob

Senior Citizen Zumba Flash Mob

Canes, walkers and age don’t have to get in the way of your desire to Zumba.

Just look at the flash mob of 160 seniors who stood outside of the Whistletop Center in San Rafael who got their groove on for the 20th annual National Seniors Health and Fitness Day. Beyond the Whistletop Center over 100,000 older adults participated in the activities available to them throughout the country offered on Wednesday.

The seniors had four rehearsals before the flash mob took place where the participants learned two Zumba routines. They also got together to decorate T-shirts before the big event. How adorable is that?

“The point of this is to show how active seniors can be, and how exercise is good for them,” said 78-year-old Michael Gordon, a volunteer who leads an exercise class at Whistlestop. “The kinds of programs we have here bring people together and keep them vigorous and alive. In my exercise class, I have people up to 90 years old.”

Our favorite part is that one of the senior’s guide dog got so happy about the infectious beat that he started tugging on his leash.

You just have to watch:
