Tweet your Sleep for Better Sleeping Habits

Tweet your Sleep

The ugly stepsister of living a healthy lifestyle is getting the right amount of shut eye.

We glorify healthy eating and our fitness habits as the king and queen of a healthy life. And, of course, there is no doubt that both of those are extremely important to living healthfully.  But, in honor of National Sleep Awareness Week we wanted to try something new: praising our sleep habits.

How often do you see someone share a tweet of their workout success or post a status update on their Facebook page about a healthy meal that was created? Likely your answer is multiple times a day. But do you ever see someone bragging about the amount of sleep they had last night? Never. Adults should get a minimum of seven hours of sleep every evening to have optimal mind and body functioning and if you are like most of us, you are probably getting shorted.

We think that sharing your sleeping habits will encourage you to get the right amount of Z’s or, at minimum, help you spotlight your dreaming hours as a major component of living a healthy life.

So, sleep-deprived health nuts (and the like) get ready to track your sleep habits on social media and beyond by making a habit of tracking your bedtime routine.  We love these apps to get you counting sheep before you know it:

1. pzizz sleep

pzizz sleep claims to be your “personal sleep assistant.” The app has built-in binaural beats and neurolinguistic programming that creates billions of soundtrack combinations to keep your mind in the sleep zone all night long. The lite version is just $0.99!

2. Sleep Cycle Alarm Clock

IF you want to figure out what you are up to while catching your Z’s, this app is the perfect tool to analyze your sleeping habits. The app will monitor your movements throughout the night and then gently nudge you awake during your lightest sleep phase so you arise well-rested and ready to take on the day. This app is just $0.99.

3. Relax & Rest Guided Meditations

Sometimes a sleepless person’s biggest issue is falling asleep. Use this app to guide your body to rest through breathing and whole body meditations. Fall asleep fast for just $0.99.

Now, the fun part! Make a habit of sharing how much shut eye you got. Try some of these tweet ideas:

Nighty night! I will be getting 7 hours of sleep tonight. Be a #glorifiedsleeper with @BiteSzWellness.

Woke up refreshed after a full night of shut eye. Can you beat 8 hours? #glorifiedsleeper with @BiteSzWellness

I’m upping my sleep habits for my healthy lifestyle and hitting the sack 15 minutes earlier. #glorifiedsleeper with @biteszwellness

Glorified Sleeper

You get the picture! Whenever you do something good to help encourage healthy sleeping habits, share it with the world.

  1. Sleep is a HUGE priority to me! Right up there with eating healthy and exercise! I think that’s the holy trinity to healthy living that’s for sure!! I have to be in bed by 11pm or else I feel groggy and weird the following day 🙁 But of course, sometimes I just can’t do that because life gets in the way, but for the most part – YES I DO! 🙂 My bed is my best friend, lol. He’s never done anything bad to me, lol!
