Music Monday: Standing Core Routine to Beggin’ by Madcon

A Norwegian hip-hop duo taking on Franki Valli and the Four Season’s hit Beggin’ should be a music disaster. But even with the odds stacked against Madcon (short for Mad Conspiracy), the remixed version an old classic from the ‘60s hits the spot and is a definite must for any workout playlist.

The fresh and funky tune from the past received a wave of new popularity when French DJ Pilooski re-edited the original Four Seasons hit in 2007 and that same year Madcon recorded and released their version of the song where it topped charts in Norway and across Europe. Since then, the song has been featured in a new Adidas commercial, appeared in multiple television shows like America’s Best Dance Crew and CSI:NY, and the song was praised when adapted by the recent winner of American Idol Philip Phillips. Its popularity may make it overplayed, but it leaves most of the world Beggin’ for more.

The R & B song has a hint of reggae in it but brings just enough liveliness and energy to get your foot taping. Or, in our case, your abs contracting.
