Music Monday: Pink Blow Me One Last Kiss + Lean Legs Workout

I’m one of those people who has to listen to music while working out. My intensity can be dependent on the jam playing through my head phones. A snappy, upbeat song can help push me over that hill (or not). And the perfect cool down song gives loads of satisfaction…”yes you made it to the end of your sweat session.” If you are anything like me, you ever have that ONE song that you always turn to when you are working your arms or flip to when you are ready to focus on your stomach? I’ll admit that I am still a sucker for “Toxic” to get me into the gym groove.

Music Monday is adding some versatility to your playlist and your workout by pairing a song from the top charts with a workout that fits the beat. It is a win-win: More songs to add to your playlist. More exercises to add to your workout routines.

I was a die-hard Pink fan when I was a youngin’. I could listen to Get the Party Started on repeat in my room for hours. And I still crush on the American singer-songwriter’s new songs. I guess I will forever be a Pink admirer…or maybe I want to be daring enough to have pink hair.

Her newest hit, Blow Me (One Last Kiss), is the first single of the renowned singer’s sixth studio album, The Truth About Love. It is an uptempo pop rock song with some electronic arrangements that are perfect for a heart pumping leg routine. Pink’s powerful vocals are coupled with edgy lyrics complaining about a not-so-loveable lover. Of course the catchy jam has Pink’s classic tongue-in-cheek lines sprinkled throughout the relatable lyrics reminding us that she is still the feisty, funny songstress we love.

Those of you who are going through heartbreak will definitely want to add this song to the breakup playlist. The shout-along chorus is ideal for a few leg kicks (keep it a secret who you are aiming for!). Those of us who are on Cloud 9 with our love life will still enjoy the danceable beats and be screaming out the chorus because this is one tough leg routine that you will want to get your mind off of.

But who isn’t a little on edge during an intense leg work out? Go big or go home.

What is your favorite Pink song? Do you have a leg burner that should be added to this routine?
