Foodie Pen Pal: March Breakfast Box

Last month I decided to join the wonderful Lindsay from The Lean Green Bean in her foodie exchange party with over 300 other bloggers. This was a much better idea than reading all of my favorite blogs and seeing their packages via a screen, wishing I could try some of the treats that were delivered to their home. Now I actually get to receive my own! Being a part of the Foodie Pen Pal program is an excellent way to connect with other bloggers and learn about some new eats at the same time.

The Lean Green Bean

My second round was just as good of an experience as my first. I sent some interesting treats over to the family lady Frieda at Purple Oven Mitt. Head on over to see what she received and check out her amazing recipes! I was so intrigued by all the food I sent her way that I almost bought two of everything so I could keep some for myself. But I held off because I knew my awesome pen pal Chandra from The Plaid and Paisley Kitchen would be sending me equally amazing goodies…and I was right!

Chandra knows that I live in New York City and being a fellow New Yorker at one time so she understands how busy life here can be. She sent me an awesome package with an assortment of breakfast treats so I can always get my day started on the right foot. Very thoughtful!

Green tea is one of my favorites! Normally I put a few tea bags in a pitcher and leave it in my windowsill and then put the pitcher into the fridge because I love to have iced tea during the warm spring and summer days. So refreshing and an excellent way to begin my day!

I normally still clear of protein bars because I find that they are an awful lot of calories and don’t hold me over, but I was pleasantly surprised by the Peanut Butter Oatmeal Square by Corazonas. It was delicious, perfect to eat at my desk and kept me full until lunch. Can’t ask for much more than that.

Granola in my Chobani yogurt is a classic and this brand stayed crisp.

Ever since I saw this recipe on Courtney’s site Sweet Tooth, Sweet Life I have had a craving for muffins. As soon as I get my hands on the new cream cheese spreads by Laughing Cow this muffin mix and I have a date. It is like Chandra read my mind!

Thank you Chandra for this wonderful package!

  1. I always want to join so badddd!!!!!!! The Marine made me promise not to though. They over-train them with the dangers of mail and he’s mr. protective — so I can live vicariously through you and your goodies though! =) Plus I always know what to try next when y’all start to rave about things!

    happy friday darling!!!

  2. What a total blast. I am on my way over to sign up! I can’t wait to be part of the fun. Green Tea is a staple in my home too….every day, right after my morning cup of joe.

  3. I’m loving Foodie Pen Pals. So fun to try new things and meet new people. Socializing and food – can’t go wrong with that. And, then it’s fun to stalk everyone and get ideas for next month. Looks like you got an awesome box.

Also, it reminds me of summer camp when I’d get a care package from home. No one sends me stuff anymore, so this is the next best thing.

    • I am a mail junkie too! When did we grow up and stop getting packages in the mail? So sad! You are totally right that this is the next best thing…love the Foodie Penn Pal program!
