Dinner and a Movie: Inspirational Movies to Get You to the Weekend

It may be summer, but that does not mean the work week ceases to exist. We admire you if you have a job that you love, but not everyone always feels that way. If this week has been dragging, maybe a little dinner and a movie inspiration will help uplift those spirits. This week we are only watching the movies with messages that remind us that even if life is knocking you down, your comeback is right around the corner. If you are one of the people who isn’t experiencing a rut, than these messages still apply.  Enjoy dinner and a movie this week with some inspirational movies reminding you that life is great!

A very recent movie, Silver Linings Playbook was all the buzz in 2012. Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper remind us that, “The world will break your heart ten ways to Sunday”, but that doesn’t mean you are out of the game. This film applauds the reinvention of  the self and understanding that not everyone will always think the same way you do. Life is about finding the people who will make you feel better, though, just like Pat and Tiffany did. Watch Silver Linings Playbook  with these appetizer vegetable skewers – reminiscent of Pat’s father, played by Robert DeNiro, who has to have his snacks while watching the football game. This will be a healthy way to start your marathon…

Another movie about rediscovering who you are, Eat, Pray, Love follows Liz, played by Julia Roberts, around the world as she tries to find new direction. One of the best parts of this movie is “eat”, when Liz finds herself gaining a ton of happy weight in Italy. Try out a simple caprese panini as you seethe with jealousy over the Italian food in this movie. Hopefully your panini will be just as tasty.

Finally  we travel to England where we learn that everything depends on time, and we will never be able to control it. About Time suggests that life works out the way it is supposed to, so we should sit back and enjoy the ride as much as possible. For such a sweet movie, we picked a sweet recipe. French toast roll ups sounds more like a breakfast food, but they are good enough for dessert!
