The beauty is back. Scarlett Johansson is starring in the movie Lucy, premiering July 25, 2014, in which her character’s mind is transformed in a deal and she turns the table on the people who have changed her. Whether you are a fan of Scarlett’s movies or not, you have to admit that she is incredibly successful at playing various roles. Unlike many actors, who often find themselves playing the same character, Joahnsson has played many different ones that demonstrate her diversity as an actress. This week’s dinner and a movie is for Scarlett Johansson and the many characters we have been lucky to see her play over the years.
Don’t forget to see Johansson in her latest role as Lucy in theaters July 25!

One of Scarlett’s many faces has been that of a nanny. In The Nanny Diaries, she plays a struggling grad student, Annie, who pays the bills through a nannying gig that teaches her more than she anticipated. There is nothing better than food for kids, so we are taking advantage of this movie and making a few appetizers that might be better suited for babysitting than an adult shindig. Try these easy mac and cheese bites (because who doesn’t love mac and cheese) as you watch this movie about what you can learn from stepping into someone else’s shoes.

If the sad faces aren’t completely clear, Lost in Translation is a very artistic movie about two lonely souls who cross paths in Tokyo. The one thing they have in common is that they are alone, and cannot speak the language, hence “lost in translation”. Scarlett plays Charlotte, a girl who goes to Tokyo with her busy boyfriend, only to have to befriend an older man who seems to be the only person who understands her. This Japanese “lunchbox” has a little bit of everything to go with this movie.
Don Jon + Panna Cotta (via Blue Jean Gourmet)

It is not one of her finer performances, but Johansson plays the stuck up girl well. Johansson’s character, Barbara, is a controlling girlfriend who teaches Don Jon a thing or two about what he doesn’t want in a woman. The seductive woman is one of Johansson’s best faces, but this movie can get downright uncomfortable at points. To ease the discomfort, try this panna cotta recipe. Just like Don Jon’s Italian mama would make…
