WellBitten Tip: Save Your Skin
No matter the temperature, showering for too long can be harmful for your skin. Your outer layer needs to remain balanced to be an effective barrier. The water from your shower makes your skin more alkaline, meaning it will neutralize acidity on your skin. This could end up being harmful because the acidity is necessary to ward off bacteria and other irritants. To keep your skin at its best shorten your time in the shower. If it helps, set a timer!

How long is your usual shower? How do you protect your skin from unwanted visitors?

  1. Sometimes I shower in HOT HOT HOT water because it feels like a warm blanket – lol… But this morning I actually took a warm one and then turned it to cold, I heard that’s good for your skin as it sort of shocks you and then closes your pores?! I could be wrong, but my skin is pretty good 🙂
