Music Monday: Lean Legs with Katy Perry

Katy Perry Prism Dark Horse

Lean legs are one of the most attractive and noticeable body parts of any female (or male to be honest). Having toned, muscular legs isn’t as hard as people may think. Running and walking uphill is always a great workout for your quads and calfs.

Fortunately, there are small things you can do every day to help improve your leg muscles. Walking up stairs gives your legs a short quick workout so always take the stairs and skip the elevator whenever possible. When you’re brushing your teeth, instead of hovering over the sink as you brush, do a wall sit against the wall in your bathroom. You’ll get a nice burn while you clean those pearly whites. At home when you’re walking from your room to the bathroom or the living room, instead of walking (like a normal person) do walking lunges from point A to point B. It might not seem like a worth while exercise but trust me, all of the little things really do add up! While you’re at the gym or working out at home keep in mind it is important to do weighted exercise circuits at least twice a week.

Lean legs don’t happen overnight; you have to work for them. Need some motivation? I’ve got you covered! This week’s Music Monday workout is a mix of lunges, squats, and bursts of cardio to get your blood pumping and your legs burning! This week’s workout is paired with “Dark Horse” by Katy Perry. This song provides a great, steady beat to workout to and makes you want to sing along. I love listening to good pump up music while I work out, and I’m sure this song will give you the extra motivation you might need, after all it is Monday! Happy squatting!
