Santa Claus is Coming to Town + Fig and Goat Cheese Bruschetta (via The Nest)

Who cares if this “oldie but goody” holiday movie is one of those weird clay cartoons. It is magical nonetheless. Santa Claus is Coming to Town is too much of a classic to pass up during the holiday season. The Burgermeister Meisterburger may just be the most evil holiday villain there ever was, but you can’t help but love how this movie can bring you directly back to your childhood. Watch this classic with a goat cheese and fig spread on bruschetta. It may seem fancy, but this dip is hands down one of the most delicious holiday appetizers we have come across.

Elf + Potato Gratin (via Jamie Oliver)

You asked and we delivered. What is the Christmas season without Elf? Believe it or not, this movie is surely becoming a holiday season veteran also, but the laughs never get old. Elf is a holiday movie that could bring cheer to just about anyone, which may be why it rivals some of the greatest holiday movies of all time. “Buddy the Elf, what’s your favorite color?” More like what is your favorite recipe? We are sure it isn’t the spaghetti, M&M’s, syrup concoction Buddy creates. Potatoes anything is always the answer to that question. Try a traditional holiday dish, which you can bring to any holiday dinner, with Potato Gratin while watching Elf!

Leaving It’s a Wonderful Life out of the holiday movie marathon would be just sinful. If this movie doesn’t remind us of the true meaning of the holiday season is, then we aren’t sure what would. Watching George Bailey’s story is the perfect way to spend a night during the holiday season. If you haven’t seen this popular holiday, we are disappointed, but you should take this opportunity to whip up a batch of oatmeal lace cookies, and get with the holiday times!
