By total coincidence, just after reminiscing and looking over news and cosplay from Comic-Con this last weekend, we stumbled upon a smoothie recipe aptly titled the San Diego smoothie Sure, it’s a stretch to say that this makes us hard-hitting journalists covering current events, but hey, it just fit so well. All news-related coincidences aside, this smoothie looks delicious and good for you! With almond milk, coconut milk, bananas, mangoes and more, who are we to say this recipe isn’t worth trying right this second?
Candice Kumai at Shape.com posted the recipe as well as four other “Sliming Summer Smoothies” to check out, and you can see exactly what’s required below (along with a delicious pic of the final product)! Enjoy and let us know what you think!
San Diego Smoothie: Recipe
“When I used to live in San Diego, there were always tons of fresh fruit and plenty of sunshine, two things I sometimes miss living in New York. So whenever I want to be taken back to California, I whip up this simple smoothie—it tastes just like the beach!”
2 cups mango chunks
2 frozen bananas
2 tablespoons shredded coconut
1 cup ice
1 1/4 cups almond milk
1 1/4 cups coconut milk
2 tablespoons whey protein powder
Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.
