TOO GOOD: 3-Bean & 2-Pepper Vegan Chili Burger

Eating vegan doesn’t have to be complicated. Many times when people think of vegan food, they associate it with omitting easy ingredients, but this vegan burger recipe is ready to prove those people wrong.

In the video above, you’ll learn how to make a three bean and two pepper vegan chili burger that is worthy of a last meal from vegan chef Ayinde Howell. Trust us, you won’t miss the meat in this hearty vegan chili burger topping.

To begin, start by sautéing tofu. You want to make sure you cook it long enough to bring out the water and get rid of the mush — about 10 minutes. Then, add your peppers, onions, and garlic. After, add some soy sauce to add a lot of flavor to the tofu. Next, throw in some sage and basil to intensify the taste. Next, it’s on to the heavier tastes such as cumin, chili, habanero and jalapeno peppers. Add in your beans and tomatoes. All of this needs to cook together for about 20-30 minutes on low.

While that cooks, take your veggie patties and buns and start grilling them up. When the spicy topping is done cooking, assemble your vegan burger, top with the bean mix and your favorite condiments — pickles and onions are a must!

Once you take a bit out of these burgers, you’ll completely forget about meet.
