Being a part of Fitfluential is one of our favorite things about being in the health and wellness community.
We get to chat it up with other wellness lovers all the time, uncover wonderful tips of living a healthy life and, most importantly, get introduced to amazing bloggers like Toni from Running, Loving, Living.
Toni started her blog just a couple of years ago to hold herself accountable for her running training. She has always been passionate about the health world as a registered nurse. But her love for all things wellness took a side step when she started a family and now we have to say that she is an EXPERT in balancing her family life, her job and her love for health.
Toni shares her daily health accomplishments, lots of tips for runners and a really cool feature called “What’s in My Gym Bag?” where we get an inside peak inside of the bag of fellow fitness fans. Strangely, this is something we were always curious to know!
We could talk all day, but Toni can just tell you all about herself in this week’s Spread the Wellness interview:
Healthy living philosophy:
Everything in moderation. Eat healthy 90% of the time and exercise for at least 30 minutes 5-6 days a week, but also allow yourself a treat or a break if you need it. Also find an activity you love, don’t force yourself to do a certain exercise, like running if your hate it! Enjoy life and have fun!!!!!
Best tip for bringing balance into a hectic lifestyle:
Take time for yourself. Whether it is 30 minutes running, reading, or just watching TV, make it a priority to tend to your needs too!
Off-beat fitness tip:
I aim to get 10,000 steps a day and I have to admit that it is really hard to do that, so some nights I have actually be known to pace around my bedroom to get in those last 500 steps.
Most cherished fitness accessory and why:
My iPhone! I have apps for tracking my running and steps. I use it as a resource for finding healthy meals on the go!! My second favorite accessory is my GymBoss for Tabata training, I haven’t found an app on the iPhone that is comparable.
Are you a menu planner or do you cook all your meals on a whim?
I try to meal plan every week. On Saturday I figure out all my meals and create my list. Sundays I shop and prep as much as I can for the upcoming week-chopping veggies, prepping breakfasts and lunches, baking, etc. I would love to say this actually happens every single week, but some weekends I am just to busy. During the weeks I cannot find time to meal plan I resort to old favorites like chili, salmon, or some type of stew or soup.
Favorite health and wellness websites/resources: Oxygen Magazine and Cooking Light
My saying: Run often, Love Completely, Live Fully
