We’re not pulling a Columbus and saying we “discovered” spiralizing, but we certainly feel passionate enough about it to do a write-up and spread the word!

If you’ve never spiralized a summer squash (AKA zucchini) before, you just have not lived. Ok, maybe you have, but we don’t think you’ve lived adventurously. It comes as no surprise that noodles, ramen, pasta, whatever you wanna call it are totally and completely one of the most delicious comfort foods. They are typically warm, delicious, and oh-so-fun to slurp up. Plus, there are just so many varieties to choose from. Whether you want to put them in soup or create a creamy pasta for dinner, there is nothing quite as satisfying.
That is, nothing until you’ve tried zoodles (or any other spiralized veggie)! Instead of picking heavy grains and carbs, a huge trend has been to replace typical pasta or noodles with long ribbons of zucchini, carrots, and even beets.
The trick behind this? Step one is, of course, to purchase your veggies and trusty tools. I, personally, swear by my Paderno spiralizer that can be purchased at Williams-Sonoma for less than $40, but if you have the patience, feel free to use a julienne peeler for thicker strips.

The next step is to decide what you would like to concoct. I tend to typically go for zucchini (as it’s the easiest to deal with) make an avocado lemon sauce/paste and toss with veggies for a quick, easy, and vegan meal. However, there are plenty of other resources that are a lot more creative and will really get you inspired. One of the best for endless, spiralized goodies? Inspiralized – a blog turned cookbook featuring dozens of spiralized recipes. Believe me when I say, it will be hard to try just one.
Take a look at the video above to get you ready and amped for Spring recipes thanks to the wonder of “zoodles”.
