WellBitten Wellness Tip: Edible Allergy Relief

There are so many possible allergens around us at all times, especially in the spring. Prevent them from bothering you by adding allergy fighting foods into your daily routine. Apples, yogurt and green tea are just some suggestions, and by doing some research you can find even more!

  1. The Quercetin in apples and tea are why they’re such wonderful edible allergy “meds” – I take quercetin by itself because it SAVES ME!! I am allergic to dogs but when I go visit my family, there are like 8 dogs around… And obviously they’re NOT going to get rid of them FOR ME – so I take extra quercetin and it WORKS! I totally recommend it in pill form if you cannot eat 8 apples a day! lol… Oh but onions have quercetin too 😉

  2. Massage, I find having a routine with healthy eating,exercise and massage right before allergy season starts to be useful. We can use oils with Eucalyptus or a peppermint to help open the sinuses, and once allergy season hits, making sure you are getting enough fluids(lemon water is great), and continue to maintain your wellness routine with massage, exercise and healthy eating.
