Waking up for Monday morning workout sessions is the worst part of the week by far. When my alarm goes off and it’s still dark outside the last thing I want to do is get my sorry butt out of bed and into gym clothes. I hope I’m not the only one who has trouble getting up on Monday’s and getting to the gym. After a weekend of relaxation and sleeping late (and cheating on my diet one..or three times) waking up at 5:30am is just not ideal. Lucky for me (and all of you) Music Monday Workouts are here to save the day!
Music Monday is designed to wake you up and get you motivated enough to power through a good, sweaty workout. It won’t, however, get you to the gym-that’s on you. I don’t care if you sleep in your gym clothes with your best shoes to squat in, we’ve all been there (err is that just me?), get out of bed and into the gym and I promise if you keep your end of the deal Music Monday will handle the rest.
This week’s Music Monday workout is an awesome squatting session designed to help tone and shape your booty while you listen to the wonderfully motivational sounds of Jason Derulo. “Talk Dirty” is an upbeat song that is great to run to or lift weights to, but it also makes you feel sort of sexy so it’s perfect for squats. When squatting, be sure to stick to the motto “Ass to Grass”. Pardon my language, but it’s crucial to get your tush low to the floor and keeps your knees in line with your toes. If you do this workout a few times a week in the gym or in your bedroom, you will start to see results. You know you’ve had a good day of squats when it’s hard to sit or walk upstairs the following day. Really push yourself through this circuit and the results will definitely be worth it in the long run. Happy Monday!
