The holidays are now in full swing and I know you’re all getting ready to indulge in your favorite foods (and drinks). There’s nothing with a little (over) indulgence occasionally, as long as you hit the gym prior to binge eating. It’s almost New Years Eve, so I’ll give you a break but that definitely doesn’t mean you can skip the gym altogether. Monday’s are the worst but be sure to get your butt to the gym, especially if you plan on having a glass of champagne…or four.
This week’s workout is an awesome leg circuit that will help tone your legs just in time for that super cute black sequin mini dress you’re dying to wear this week. Remember kids, just because it’s winter time doesn’t mean you can’t show off a little leg. And those legs should always be in proper shape. This exercise circuit is packed with burpees, squats, lunges, and more to get your heart rate up and your legs and glutes burning. Take each exercise slowly and try to focus and finish strong. If you need a little break, take a few seconds to breathe and then get back to squatting! Squats and wall sits are great for your quads and glutes while burpees work your whole body. When you do your wall sit, keep our back straight and flattened against the wall and bend your legs 90 degrees. It’s also really important to keep proper form and make sure your knees don’t ever go over your toes. Also remember to keep your weight in the heels of your feet and not in your toes. Try to power all the way through this circuit without stopping, and if you’re feeling adventurous, do it twice!
The song for this week’s Music Monday workout is “Neon Lights” by Demi Lovato. It’s all over the radio right now and I love singing along to it in the car, so I figured why not give it a try in my workout routine? I’m actually really enjoying it this week! Happy squatting!
