Do you travel for business? Well, even if you don’t, surely you have been to an airport and seen a business traveler doing their thing. They are easy to pick out because they are usually the ones who breeze through the security lines and set up a a small work area in their terminal’s waiting area, all while looking GQ in their perfectly pressed suits. They also usually wear a permanent scowl that they love to direct at families who can’t seem to collect themselves and their multitude of children running around the terminal. We can’t really blame them though, they are professionals at the traveling deal.

An infographic by PC Housing  titled, Mobile Dependence in Business Travel, questions just how travel savvy business travelers really are though. The infographic takes a deeper look at the lives of people who travel for business and gives the public a better understanding about the health hazards and benefits of traveling on the job. According to the infographic, the average business travelers are men between the ages of 25 and 38. They typically work 240 more hours per year than professionals who work from an office. When they are traveling, the professional generally carries at least three different pieces of technology with them, usually consisting of a laptop, a tablet, and a smartphone. During their travels, the average business person checks their technology up to 34 times a day. The good news: business travelers report being more productive during the day, making it easier for them to sleep at night.

  1. OBSESSED – I am sorry.. Wait, no I am not. It’s not my fault or anyone elses that we are dependent on our gadgets!!! This is what the world is turning into, so we have to stay connected! I will be traveling with 2 computers and an iPhone next week – I am not exactly looking forward to this, but it’s necessary!
