Iron is an important mineral to the body, but most people are deficient in it. This mineral helps the blood bring oxygen to the lungs and helps enzymes digest your food properly. Worried that you might be lacking iron in your diet? The most common signs of iron deficiency are feeling weak, an inflamed tongue, and feeling cold. You can easily incorporate more iron into your diet by eating foods like beef, halibut, chicken liver, clams, mussels, and tofu. Other iron rich foods are egg noodles, wheat germ, spinach, apricots, and most varieties of beans. You can also take a daily multi-vitamin that has iron in it or an iron supplement to increase your iron intake.
