I was never an oatmeal kid and I’m still not really an oatmeal adult. Something about the lumpy texture and lack of flavor was not as appealing to me as a bowl of chocolate flavored cereal. Then again, who doesn’t feel this way? But in the midst of my marathon training and revamped fitness goals, even I can’t deny its health benefits.
In addition, I can accredit overnight oats for making the thought of oatmeal much more bearable. Not only do they have the same health benefits, but they require absolutely no cooking at all. This means: No muss, no fuss. Since they’re simply oats soaked in a liquid or yogurt of your choosing, they can be made the night before as a quick and nutritious breakfast. Now you have absolutely no excuse for that morning bagel or skimping on breakfast altogether – not to mention the total ability to customize to your tastes! Check out these overnight oats recipes that even I get excited about in the morning.
