When you first start dating someone, you’ll usually meet at a bar the first couple times and have a few drinks, or you’ll meet at a restaurant and eat super delicious food a few times before you take it to the next level. Well instead of all that food you’re eating and the alcohol you’re consuming, why not mix it up a bit? Instead of sending your partner the message you like to eat and drink on the weekends, surprise them with these awesome “fit dates” that will be sure to impress your partner and ensure that you’ll have an unforgettable first few date together.
1. Hiking
Hiking is a great way to work up a sweat, and bring the two of you closer. Exercising outside increases feelings of revitalization and positive thinking. The conversations as you hike will be upbeat, positive and most likely hilarious. You can even take it a step further and bring a tent so you can camp out and share a tent together… oo la la!
2. Rock Climbing
Nothing is quite as terrifying as rock climbing, especially outdoors. But if the two of you do it together, it can be an awesome trust building exercise between the two of you as you help each other get to the top of the rock. This requires teamwork and clear communication, and you can see early on whether or not they are good communicators during a stressful experience.
3. Dance Lessons
There is no better way to set an intimate mood and to set your chemistry on fire. It’s a great way to get in sync on the dance floor and in your relationship.
4. Kick boxing
You better show your partner that you’re not one to mess with, right off the bat. This workout can burn up to 450 calories per hour, according to the American Council on Exercise. Kickingboxing is known as the sport that gives you the perfect opportunity to beat away your stress — and everyone could benefit from that.
5. Naked Yoga
This is more for couples who are fearless and enjoy being naked (believe it not, people like that actually exist). Practicing naked yoga together gives you an opportunity to see and learn about each other bodies and to deal head on with any body image insecurities you might have. I recommend doing this activity after the 5th or 6th date…or maybe just wait till your married.
