3 Ways to Stay Inspired All Year

It happens every year. We all make grand new year’s resolutions and decide to make this year the best year we have ever had. We promise ourselves not to let the bad days outshine the good ones and we create lofty goals without plans to put them into action. By January 4th, the sparkle of our new year’s fresh start has faded and we find ourselves lying on the couch watching syndicated television, thinking it may be a good idea to use one of our work vacation days within the first week of the new year…

Wrong! This year will be the year that you achieve supreme happiness because we are here to give you three tips on how to stay inspired all year. It’s easy to fall back into a slump, but with the right attitude, this actually could be your best year yet. Just follow our three tips, and you will be well on your way to a fantastic new year!

1. Remember the Good Moments

It is so easy to get caught up in the stressful moments of life. It is important to remember that a few bad days does not mean we have a bad life. Instead of dwelling on the tough times, remember the good times. Keep a journal or a jar of the moments you feel happy. At the end of the day, jot down one quick line something that made you feel great that day. Even if it was someone who held the door and smiled at you, it still counts. This life is wonderful, we just need to recognize that. At the end of 2014, you will have a book or jar full of little notes about how incredible your 2014 really was.

2. Make a Plan for Your Resolutions

Instead of thinking of a few resolutions and keeping them in the back of your mind, make a plan. Start off small and allow your goals to grow. Even if at first you are on a day by day goal schedule, it will help you stick to your goals in the long run. Writing your goals down somewhere you look daily or displaying them on some sort of goal board will help with the process. It is easy for goals to get lost in the back of your mind. It is difficult to ignore them when they are right in front of your face.

3. Stop and Enjoy Yourself

Let’s face it, the year flies. As soon as 2014 starts, it will feel like we are getting ready for 2015, and that is why it is important to enjoy yourself. Of course that is easier said than done, so we are suggesting that you make a resolution to take time out of your schedule for yourself. It doesn’t matter if it is an hour a week or an hour a day, finding time to stop and smell the roses is how you will remember not to forget yourself in the mix of life. If that means doing absolutely nothing but thinking, that is ok. Quality time alone (or with someone) will recharge your life and remind you to stay hopeful about 2014.
