Staying health-conscious is key, but so is maintaining a social life. Our advice? Don’t ditch happy hour because the cocktail calories are daunting. Instead, choose wisely! We’re sharing some of the most diet-friendly drinks so that you can sip (if you so choose) and stay slim at the same time. Without further ado, here are some (potent) low-cal cocktails for you to enjoy this summer!
Mojito

The main calorie culprit in a mojito is the syrup that sweetens it — the rest is just club soda, mint, citrus, and (our personal favorite) rum. Experts advise asking for half the normal amount of syrup, or, if your sweet tooth can stand it, no syrup at all – wild, we know. Without the sweet stuff, this cocktail rings in somewhere under 200 cals. So…who’s up for a second round?
Vanilla & Ginger

This is for the bubblegum and cotton candy-lovers out there (yep, we’re guilty, too): a vanilla vodka and diet ginger ale cocktail that tastes as sweet as can be, yet is sugar-free. Pair one shot of the liquor with the soda and you’ll be sipping less than 100 cals for the whole drink. Now, all you need to do is get over the embarrassment of requesting vanilla vodka at the bar…
Champagne

A four-ounce glass of champagne rings in at about 85 calories, less than both a glass of wine or a bottle of light beer. Bottom line: there’s no need for calorie guilt and you’ll look classy as heck with a flute of bubbly in your hand. Double whammy.
Gin & (Diet) Tonic

This classic cocktail is universally appreciated. What’s especially appreciated by us? The fact that we can replace tonic water with diet tonic water (or club soda) and enjoy this mixed drink for a mere 100 calories. Make healthy swaps like this one to stay sophisticated, sip-savvy, and slim! We dare you to repeat that one five times…

What’s your low-cal cocktail of choice?
I’d actually go for wine because I can nurse a glass of that all night long and don’t have to sacrifice flavor. I guess if I’m drinking I am doing it for the taste more than to get drunk.
I don’t drink but if I did I would probably just have some vodka with diet soda!
