Oatmeal Recipes That Will Warm You Up

January is National Oatmeal Month (despite there already being a National Oatmeal Day). For people like me who love oatmeal, it’s not surprising that a month would be dedicated to this staple breakfast food. Not only does oatmeal taste delicious, but it has a long list of health benefits and can be enjoyed in many different ways. Starting or ending the day with oatmeal will keep your stomach full and, since it can be made hundreds of different ways, you won’t get bored. Let’s look at some favorite oatmeal dishes and get started on celebrating oatmeal!

1. Pumpkin Pie Oatmeal via  Fitness Magazine

Let’s start with breakfast. Just because November has passed doesn’t mean we have to stop eating pumpkin. Try making this pumpkin pie oatmeal that only calls for a few ingredients—oats, skim milk, a banana, cinnamon, pureed canned pumpkin, ground cloves, and ground nutmeg. Not only does it taste incredible, but it is super easy to make!

This next one requires some preparation, but it will be worth the wait. Strawberry Banana Overnight Oats is a vegan recipe that will definitely make your morning brighter. Containing rolled oats, unsweetened coconut milk, a banana, strawberries, and chia seeds, this original recipe was prepared in a mason jar to add some extra fun. Just prepare the oatmeal in the jar, shake it all up, cover it, stick it in the refrigerator, and the next morning, enjoy!

“Oatmeal Banana Chocolate Chip Muffins”—need I say more? This recipe takes about twenty-five minutes to make and can be made with or without the chocolate chips, depending on how healthy you want the muffins to be!

This dessert, featuring pecans, oats, and apples may be a healthier version of apple pie, but it will taste just as good.

    The Oatmeal Lemon Herb Chicken is the one that really interests me. I’ve never thought about using oatmeal as breading for chicken. I think I’m going to try this. Oatmeal is one of those all purpose natural products. You make a simple paste for a facial. It is great for the skin.
