A recent study showed that the addition of an omega-3 supplement as part of a heart healthy diet may not be as heart loving as everyone once thought.
Do we think it is worth stopping your daily habit of taking one supplement a day? No. Heart attacks happen for a combination of reasons from hereditary risk to poor diet. So whether or not fish oil and omega 3’s are not the answer to heart attack prevention according to the Journal of the American Medical Association doesn’t mean you should quit your habit cold turkey. Plus, Omega-3 foods are usually very good for you being high in protein and usually lower in calories that foods with more saturated fats. So, I am staying on the omega-3 bandwagon for now.
Like I said, this is what they are saying until the next big wave of research. There is no way to keep up with the healthy bandwagon…it moves much faster than us.
