You may remember this song as the soundtrack for Microsoft’s Internet Explorer 9 advertisment, but since then the track “Too Close” by singer-songwriter Alex Clare has reached international success and even landed on the Billboard Hot 100 list at number 8. Even with its radio charm, “Too Close” may not be one that gets you pumped to run 5 miles, but the dark and sexy song is actually a jam that should be on your gym playlist.
Although the song seems slow and too laid back for a gym session, “Too Close” has a buildup of strong beats that are actually quietly motivating. The alternative rock song simply commands your attention. Plus the raspy voice of Alex can pull you through when you are melting in gym humidity.
We think its strong chorus, simple lyrics and flurry of dubstep beats make it a sensational song to pair with a stability ball routine.
