Foodie Pen Pal: A Box of Little Things

I truly look forward to my Foodie Pen Pal shipment every month…a box of treats from a fellow foodie, what’s not to love? Lindsay from the Lean Green Bean struck gold with this genius idea to connect fellow bloggers beyond the screen.

This month I was paired with Michelle at Blogitness who showered me with a fun box full of lots of little things. This is a great way to taste test a variety of items, so it was fun to dig into this one.

I had told Michelle that I have a love for peanut butter (don’t we all?) and I was happy to see some similar creamy, spreadable goodness in my box. I am familiar with the Justin’s brand, but was super intrigued by Artisana coconut butter. I’m a bit of a coconut fiend, but don’t eat it as often as I would like to. Needless to say I dug into my new taste of the tropics immediately.

I thought it was delicious and full of that velvety coconut flavor. My husband couldn’t get past the texture despite my endless attempts to change his mind. “Just try it again…maybe you will like it better this time…” I still need to figure out the perfect way to use it. Besides eating it straight out of the package (I couldn’t help myself!) I also spread it on an English muffin. I think I will try topping my oatmeal with it. Any other ideas from the seasoned coconut butter eater??

Lately I have been bored of water. I know, it is a healthy living sin and I am still drinking it but I was happy to have some new flavors to add to my H2O. Michelle must have had secret knowledge that I am obsessed with tea and have never had the honey vanilla flavor. I also love Crystal Light, but usually just get lemonade so the strawberry option was new to me too. It is a little sweet, but I think if you use half the packet instead of a whole one it would be the perfect, lightly flavored drink.

I was also happy to find a few grab-and-go snacks because that is pretty much the story of my life.

And my husband (who still thinks the Foodie Pen Pal program is for him) was ecstatic about the Annie’s mac ‘n cheese. Boys love to cook from boxes. I still don’t get why, but I’ll let him be happy about it.

See what I sent to Mellissa at A Fit and Spicy Life. You’ll be interested in the unique pepper I shipped her! Plus, you will likely fall in love with her fun, fit-minded spirit and Wine Wednesday posts!

If you haven’t joined the Foodie Pen Pal program I don’t know what you are waiting for! Contact Lindsay before the 5th of the month to get involved. You will LOVE it!

Are you a Foodie Pen Pal? Do you get joy out of receiving fun mail?

Uh, YUM! Foodie Pen Pals is just the most fun in a box you will find all year sans Christmas.

Yes it would be fun if we were paired up Talia. We would have our own little foodie party, wouldn’t we!

Hehe, glad to hear I’m not the only one who gets bored with water-I go through phases of needing it to be flavored. The blood-orange flavor of vitamin water zero is my current love though it’s caffeinated so I have to choose when to drink it…

    Holy cow! You scored!
Groceries are so much more expensive in Canada than in the US. I can usually only manage 4 or 5 items in my FPP box (and even then, I go over the $15 limit).

I love the single serving nut and coconut butters; I tend to just squeeze them straight into my mouth!

Glad I am not alone in eating the coconut butter straight out of the package! I tend to go over my $15 limit too, but Trader Joe’s is a huge help…I can imagine NYC grocery prices are similar to Canada..maybe? I know we are much more expensive here.
