Bytes for Breakfast: Randy Jackson’s Diabetes Story + Stuffed Bagel

Often times we put celebrities on a pedestal and forget that despite their larger than life TV personality, celebs are still prone to the same sicknesses, diseases and life challenges that the rest of us are. Diabetes, like many other diseases, does not spare anyone even if you are a popular face from a hit TV show.

I appreciate Randy Jackson, one of America’s favorite American Idol judges, sharing his story on discovering that he has Type 2 diabetes and the healthy actions he took for his health and to bring awareness of diabetes to others. He now has his diabetes under control after losing nearly 100 pounds, making a healthier diet a priority, adding light exercise into his life and following the proper treatment. Randy Jackson is not alone in the bank of celebrities with diabetes. The gorgeous and popular Halle Berry, internationally renowned talk show host Larry King and Food Network chef Paula Deen all struggle with the challenges of Type 2 diabetes.
