The average weight gain during the holiday season can range in the 8 to 12 pound range. Yikes!

If you are already on the path to saying “oh well, I’m doomed anyway so I’ll have seconds” take a moment to rethink your routine. The holidays can be stressful enough without adding weight loss to the list of to-do’s. Stay motivated through the holidays by:

  • Hosting your own “fit” party that involves walking through the neighborhood, lightened up warm drinks in mugs and grab-and-go snacks. Holiday parties do not have to be indoors with a table of food!
  • Sign-up for a fun run that you can do with your family.
  • Power walk through the holiday crowds at the mall.
  • Stop worrying about losing weight and instead focus on not adding on extra holiday pounds.
