Artisan Noodles: Mara’s Pasta Review + Giveaway

All pasta is not created equal.

This is a fact I learned after indulging in a Maragrain based pasta that has superior texture and flavor than other wheat grain noodles.

Mara’s Pasta offers your favorite pasta shapes (from farfalle to fettuccine) made from a unique wheat called Maragrain that gives their pasta a hearty texture and taste. The artisan pasta is 100% whole wheat and loaded with more protein and fiber than other whole grain pastas. The flavor has something extra special about it. The mild wheat flavor has a slight essence of sweetness and when cooked the texture of the pasta is perfection.

What I loved about the family run Mara’s Pasta brand is that it cooks several minutes faster than other brands. For a girl on the go, extra minutes mean everything. You cook the noodles just like you would any other and mix in your favorite sauces and toppings. I found that one of my favorite ways to prepare the pasta was with a touch of balsamic and olive oil so that the pasta still remains the star and doesn’t get smothered with extras.

I’m a sucker for good packaging. I can’t tell you how many times I have attempted to perfectly open a box of pasta just to here the signature rip that means I can’t properly seal my pasta. But Mara’s Pasta packaging and presentation is in a completely different league. The noodles are packaged to eliminate the breakage of noodles. They are boxed with an easy to open and and close seal AND they are bagged to keep your pasta at peak freshness. Also, Mara’s pasta comes in 16 ounce (1 full pound) containers unlike the grocery store packages that are typically 12 ounces.

As the weather becomes a bit more crisp the idea of a bowl of healthy and hearty bowl of pasta sounds more and more welcoming. Don’t you agree? I hope so because the crew at Mara’s Pasta is kindly giving one Bite Size Wellness reader a chance to win a 3-pound variety pasta gift box. All you have to do is enter below…and cross your fingers!
