This Month in the Mags: April 2013 Health Mania

We don’t know about you all, but we think Spring is the perfect season for some quality magazine time. Whether it’s on the airplane to and from a weekend getaway, outside catching the first rays of the season, or just while relaxing at home, magazines are as out and about as we are.

Read on to enjoy our round up of the latest April issues of your favorite magazines.

1. BECOME A LOCAL WITH TRAVEL AND LEISURE

This month’s edition of T+L is the perfect magazine for anybody consumed by tendencies of wanderlust.  The headline “100 Places to Eat Like a Local” is just the beginning of the inside scoop that the pages have to offer. We may be biased, but one of our favorite articles is a sampling of some top picks for where to grab a bite in our hometown: New York City. Check this out, and so much more, in the pages of T+L.

2. GET UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL WITH MICHELLE IN VOGUE

Ignoring the controversial politics of red versus blue, we have to admit that we love Michelle Obama. The first lady has our support for her Let’s Move campaign to get kids active for a healthy future. Michelle not only is the subject of the feature article in this month’s issue, but her photographs were taken by the one and only Annie Leibovitz. There are so many other great finds in this issue as well, like a photoshoot in honor of the first responders from Hurricane Sandy and an editorial on how to bake the perfect coconut cake.

3. LIVE AU NATURAL WITH NATURAL HEALTH

If the cover model’s fabulous hair doesn’t draw you to this magazine, maybe hearing a little about what Natural Health has to offer will strike your fancy. Every article in this issue is chock full of information about the best ways to connect with yourself in a holistic kind of way, and we love it. One article that we want to point your attention to is the Good Food Awards. Here, they highlight their favorite packaged foods that you can buy at your local grocery store to eat healthy all day long!

4. GO FOR IT WITH COSMO

Although we may be a bit exhausted of the Kardashian invaded media, we can never ditch Cosmo. Kim K’s article is interesting to read to get an inside scoop on her life, but you can get the same answers from switching on the television show reruns on E. What we were the most drawn to in this issue is cosmopolitan’s career advice. From fashion advice to testimonies from high powered women, this can be used as a great resource for scoring your next interview.

5. GET MOTIVATED WITH WOMEN’S FITNESS

Some of you may be thinking when you have read one fitness magazine, you’ve read them all. If this is you, then we have a suggestion: Try reading one that is not based in the USA. That’s right, Women’s Fitness is a UK magazine that probably will give you new and different information than your typical American issue. We read it on our iPhones, and we especially love the “Essentials”. This section is page after page of the newest products and facts on how to live, shop, eat and exercise healthier. There is always a great find waiting to be found.
