At this point in time, if you are unaware of how terrible cigarette smoking is for your health, it is time to crawl out from underneath the nicotine encrusted rock you’ve been living under. Studies have shown many detrimental effects of smoking, and the most recent find is that smoking can effect the circadian pattern of your lungs, making it difficult for smokers to sleep. Just add it to the list.
We all want to be less stressed out, but actually lowering your stress level can be way harder than it seems, and it usually seems pretty hard. If you are looking for a place to start, this list of tips has all of the bases covered, and with a little tweaking to make it perfect for you, can turn into the perfect stress-less checklist.
Usually, the message billboards you see at churches and fast-food chains have pretty normal messages like, “Stop in and try a quarter pounder.” However, every once in a while, the person in charge of writing the messages is extremely clever and gets really punny with their job. If I saw one of these signs while I was driving, I’d probably have to pull over.
A science teacher in Iowa did a 3-month long weight loss experiment, and after only eating McDonald’s for 3 months, actually lost 37 pounds. Although he was eating McDonald’s, he carefully measured his calorie, fat and cholesterol intake, and exercised every day. The takeaway? Whatever you are eating, as long as you make the right choices, stay consistent, and exercise, you can successfully lose weight. I know what you’re thinking, but his cholesterol levels dropped too.
