Monday’s are always the hardest day of the week. After a relaxing weekend free of work, school, and responsibility, no one wants Monday to come around. The worst part of facing Monday is dragging your butt to the gym. I always dread waking up on Monday and getting myself to workout. However, Music Monday helps make my workouts less awful and more manageable. Filled with fun songs and short circuit exercises, Music Monday helps get my day started off right.
This week’s edition of Music Monday is a core challenge that will have your abs burning (in the best way possible). Follow this circuit workout three times a week and you’ll have a tight, toned tummy in no time. The song of the week is “What Does The Fox Say?” by Ylvis. I’m sure you’ve heard this song a hundred times by now, but it never gets old. This song is upbeat and has a great chorus, which makes it perfect for working out. Here’s the catch. Throughout the duration of the song you will be doing traditional crunches. There is no rest time so your abs will be working during the entire song. When the chorus comes on, the fox says four different things. Each time ‘what the fox says’ is different during the chorus, you switch up the moves. There will be four set moves you will alternate during the chorus, and you’ll be crunching the rest of the time.
This workout will definitely have your abs burning so pace yourself and feel free to take a quick break if you need to. Push yourself through the burn and your abs will thank you later. Get an early start on that spring break body with these simple moves that only take a few minutes out of your day! Happy Monday. Let’s get crunching. Washboard abs here we come (sooner or later)!
