Wouldn’t it be nice if we were all blessed with luscious lips like Angelina Jolie WITHOUT having to dish out lots of dough for it?
Lip venoms and plumpers are a huge seller and can often be quite pricey. Worst part is, many of them don’t yield respectable results, but leave your lips with a burning sensation that tingles for ages.
Rather than spend my hard earned wages on outrageously priced products, I’m going to show you how to indulge your inner DIY diva and enhance the look of your lips naturally.
How To Make Your Own Lip Plumper
I’m going to start by sharing a homemade lip plumper recipe with you so you’ll have to hit up your local pharmacy and grab a few items. On your shopping list you should have:
- Aquaphor
- 3-4 drops of Liquid Vitamin B6
- 3-4 drops of Liquid Niacin
- 5-6 drops of Cinnamon Oil or Peppermint Oil (depends on your preference)
- A pinch of Cayenne pepper or freshly squeeze juice from a Jalapeno pepper
Once you have all your ingredients you are going to blend them together until they are of uniform consistency. You can either do this by hand or in a small blender; whichever you prefer.
If you have an empty lip balm container feel free to thoroughly clean it out and reuse it, or purchase a travel size container from your local dollar store.
Scoop your homemade lip venom into your container and you’re ready to give it a try. To be safe, spot test your lip plumper on the inside of your wrist before smothering it all over your lips.
Because pepper and spicy oils are used you want to be sure it will not irritate your skin. Better safe than sorry!
Hot Tip: If you really don’t like the tingling sensation that is bound to come, add a touch of organic honey to your balm. The honey will soothe your lips while smelling and tasting great.
How Does it Work?
The ingredients in this homemade lip plumper naturally inflame your senses and skin. Cinnamon oil and peppermint oil stimulate the lip capillaries and enhances blood flow which gives off a fuller, rosier appearance. The same is true of cayenne pepper so be sure not to get too crazy and add more than required.
If nude lip balms aren’t your thing, why not add a little taste of the rainbow to your plumper? There are two very simple additions you can make to the original recipe that will give a nice little tint.
1. Using your favourite shade of mineral blush powder, add about ¼ teaspoon to your blend and mix.
2. For the more natural and green beauty babes, hit up the farmers market and grab yourself a pomegranate. Mash up 15-20 seeds and drain the red juice into your lip plumper. Be sure to blend nicely, and then apply.
If you don’t believe me that this will work, just look at the tips of your fingers after picking out the seeds; bright red! Pomegranate juice makes for a great lip stain.
Never again will you have to blow big bucks on products that don’t work. This easy to make DIY recipe will give you a pash-worthy pout in no time at all. So what are you waiting for, ladies? Go ahead, try it out and let the lip-locking begin!
