Dinner and A Movie: Valentine’s Day Date Night

Happy Friday! We are here to deliver some of the best news you may hear all year: finally, Valentine’s Day will fall on a Friday. The one night of the year that we actually plan a well thought out and romantic date with our significant other, will be a day that we don’t have to wake up bright and early the next day to trudge on through our rather unromantic lives.

Considering such fortunate fate, we’ve opted to deliver you all with a Valentine’s Day themed dinner and a movie date night the week before Valentine’s Day. We are assuming all of you will be smooching someone you love on the 14th, so here is another excuse to have a friday dinner and a movie date night one week before cupid’s day. We have picked out some of our favorite romantic movies and recipes to help you make this Friday a perfectly mushy evening. Hopefully the food won’t be mushy though… Happy date night!

50 First Dates + Pineapple Upside Down Waffles (via Real Mom Kitchen)

Bet you didn’t see this one coming. That’s right, 50 First Dates is one of our favorite romantic comedies, because Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore have undeniably sweet chemistry. We could only dream for a love story so endearing, especially one that starts over breakfast. Breakfast is without a doubt the most important meal of the day, and is often even better served at night. This date night, try upside down pineapple waffles in honor of the romance that started in a Hawaiian diner over a good breakfast.

P.S. I Love You + Dublin Coddle (via Food.Com)

We hope you didn’t think we wouldn’t put a tearjerker on the list. To anyone who has ever chalked P.S. I Love You up to a sad chick-flick, all we have to say is “shame on you.” This movie is one of the under-rated greats that may even contend with the classic Love Story. Regardless of how romantically heart-wrenching and hopeful this story is, the best part about it is that some of the movie is set in the idyllic pastures of Ireland. This year, get swept away by the movie, while enjoying some good old Irish comfort food. Dublin coddle is all the greatness of sausage, potatoes, and onions combined into a deliciously cozy dish.

Friends with Benefits + Chicken Avocado Burger (via Pink, Blonde, Texas)

Is it complicated this Valentine’s Day? Fear not, because we know that not everyone is in a peachy keen relationship. Watch the fun Friends with Benefits to get your romantic comedy fix. Yet another acting duo with chemistry that could make your heart stop, Mila Kunis and Justin Timberlake are a perfect on screen “not” couple in this film about the complications of just hooking up with a person you are attracted to. For this movie, try avocado chicken burgers. When you see Kunis’ and Timberlake’s bodies you’ll know why we picked a healthier dinner.

What movie will you watch this Valentine’s Day?
