The Stephen King classic novel “Carrie” will be brought to life on film again in a remake of the original opening this weekend. Chloë Grace Moretz will be playing the title character in this modern adaptation of the movie. Carrie’s mother will be played by Julianne Moore and the movie will also star Judy Greer, Portia Doubleday, Alex Russell, Gabriella Wilde. The film is about the story of a young woman who just wants to fit in and along the way discoveries she has telekinetic powers. After being terrorized by her classmates, Carrie decides she’s had enough, and the town of Chamberlain will never be the same. What makes this film version different from the others is that it’s the most similar to the novel. You can also expect to see the scariest version of the iconic prom scene to date. If your ready to start your pre-Halloween celebrations, check out Carrie and then try these recipes.
This roasted salmon recipe is reminiscent of the simple and beautiful salmon-colored dress Carrie wears to prom. This recipe combines classic flavors like butter, parsley, and fresh ground pepper. The prep time for this recipe is 10 minutes and the cook time is also 10 minutes. The recipe also includes tips of how to infuse your salmon with herbs and how to roast it with olives and thyme.
Whether you have seen the original movie, read the novel, or not, everyone knows the iconic scene when Carrie is covered with blood at the prom. Carrie’s moment as prom queen is ruined when she her classmates play a prank and dump a bucket of blood on her. To have a sweeter end to your scary movie night, try this blood orange sorbet. This recipe uses blood orange juice, lemon juice, sugar, and water (so it’s totally vegan-friendly, too!) You can use an ice cream maker for a fast recipe, but if don’t have one, go here to learn how you can make it with just a freezer.
Will you be going to see Carrie?

I am not going to see Carrie but I AM GOING TO RIP INTO THAT SALMON! By far my favorite food on the face of the planet. I will massacre that salmon! LOL!
I’m a huge scaredy cat when it comes to movies but the casting sounds great on this. Either way I want that blood orange sorbet!
I typically don’t like scary movies but I am curious about this one, as I love Chole Grace Moretz. These recipes both look delish but what you should really be eating in honor of this gruesome blood bath is a huge bowl of my Spaghetti Squash Spaghetti…it’s totally red and “bloody” and sort of looks like brains 🙂 Delicious though!
