Bring on the Bubbles for Bubble Bath Day

Today is National Bubble Bath Day! Luckily our friends at Modern Day Mom warned us to get our bubble on. It would have been tragic to miss out!

Try these tips for the best (and bubbliest) way to pamper yourself in the tub. You know you deserve it.

January 8th  is National Bubble Bath Day.  Why don’t we tell the kids about that later? For now, let’s think about ourselves and why there’s a reason we need a national day to celebrate a bubble bath. Do we really need a reason to light some candles, pour a glass of wine and slip into a tub of warm, soothing bubbles? While it’s true that a warm bubble bath helps you de-stress and relax, you don’t really need an excuse to enjoy what the perfect bubble bath has to offer. It doesn’t matter whether you’ve had a hard day at work, a worst day at home, or just need a little “me” time. A bubble bath sure hits the spot.

In preparation for your bubble bath, this checklist will help you make sure you have everything you need to enjoy your soak. Plan ahead, clear your schedule and let the cares of the day drain away as you envelop yourself in the luxury of the perfect bubble bath.

Bubbles Make the Difference

A bubble bath wouldn’t be a bubble bath without the bubbles, so it pays to indulge a little on this one. Be sure to purchase a scent you really like and can stand to smell for an extended period. You will be spending more than five minutes in your bath, so take the time to peruse your choices and pick a good one.

One of the downfalls of bubble baths is that the bubbles don’t last long enough. This could be due to hard water, so add a bit of salt to the water before adding your bubble bath and you will have bubbles galore! Add a dab of shampoo when you add your bubble bath for even more fluffy bubbles.

Ambiance

To set the tone for relaxation, you must have the correct lighting – nothing too bright, but nothing too dark either. You want to relax, not fall asleep. Turn down the lights and light a few candles in the bathroom to set the scene. Candles have a way of calming your body and your mind for a Zen-like experience, so don’t be afraid to light several.

Music is a powerful tool that affects people in many different ways. If you have ever been to a spa, you already know they always have relaxation music playing softly throughout. Whether you realize it or not, that music plays a big part in your ability to relax. Recreate that environment by playing music during your bath that is relaxing to you.

Enjoy It Even More

As if this bubble bath doesn’t sound perfect enough already, you can take it a step further by incorporating things you enjoy into your bath time. If you enjoy a glass of wine now and then to unwind, bring it with you into the bath. Just be careful about drinking too much too fast. Warm water has a way of enhancing alcohol’s effect.

Another activity that helps you relax and can be done in the tub is reading. Grab the book you are currently reading and immerse yourself in its fictional world while you soak your cares away in the perfect bubble bath.

Are you going to be celebrating National Bubble Bath Day? What is your favorite part about taking a bath?
