We are getting to the point in the New Year where our resolutions are becoming a little harder to keep. Many of us made promises to live a healthier lifestyle and achieve some sort of fitness goal. Sometimes it just takes a little extra incentive to stick with a new workout routine.
Here are a 5 ways you can reward your workout:
1. Use Gym Pact
Gym Pact is an awesome app available for iPhone and Android that motivates you to workout by financial incentive. You pledge to workout a certain number of days each week. Then you either check in to your gym, run using RunKeeper, or wear your phone during a home workout for at least 30 minutes to meet your pact. If you meet your pact, you get paid a percentage. If you don’t, you pay.
2. Set Small Goals
Break your big goals into smaller ones and reward yourself as you reach each small goal. Run a x amount of miles for the first time? A coffee from your favorite shop. Lose 5 pounds? A pedicure!
3. Make a Money Jar
A money jar is another great way to reward your workout. You can put $1 per workout into it and then save up for something big to reward yourself. It’s a good visual motivator as you start to see the dollar bills add up.
4. Pamper Yourself
Taking care of yourself while you’re on a fitness journey is essential. Take time to stretch. Sleep in on your rest day. Get a massage.
5. Get New Fit Gear
New fitness gear is a huge workout motivator and also a reward for your progress. When you think that you look good, you feel good too. Never underestimate the power of cute workout clothes.
There are a number of other ways you can reward your workout. The key is finding what motivates you the most and then implement it. Adding a little bit more incentive can help make your 2013 healthy living goals a reality.

I let myself get a massage… It’s definitely a reward because I really do NOT get them, ever!! I feel guilty unless I accomplished something!
A massage sounds like a GREAT way to reward an accomplishment!
