Sometimes, we spend ridiculous amounts of money on beauty products and cosmetics. We even spend more if we decide to splurge on a facial at a spa. Well, there’s good news for all you beauties that want to get that perfect, soft glowing skin at home. At home facials can be easy, and even better, way less expensive than going to get a facial or buying an expensive product. These facials can be made with a few (sometimes only one!) ingredients that will give you the same results with half the cost. The best part is these five DIY facials are as pure as it gets, and there’s no need to start reading labels to see if your store bought mask is really packed with chemicals and false dyes (ew!).

That’s right, honey. All you need is to spread a thin layer of honey on your face. Some variations include adding some lemon and sugar, but honey on its own is enough. The honey makes your pores open up, and it feels as if you’re sweating everything out. After leaving it on for fifteen to twenty minutes, rinse your face with warm water and towel it off to get the rest of the sticky residue off. It gives you skin a natural glow, and leaves it feeling exceptionally soft.
This recipe calls for combining some juice from an orange with baking soda for a DIY mask. It helps shrink your pores, and the facial leaves you with a nice tingle for a bit afterwards. Oranges are packed with antioxidants which help make your skin have a natural looking glow. It leaves you with brighter looking, softer skin.
A banana face mask is great for anyone who has oily skin. This recipe takes three simple ingredients – a banana, honey, and lemon juice, to make an easy mask for anyone who’s looking to reduce oil from their pores. Thanks to my love of bananas, I’ll have to try my best not to start eating this one! There is also a recipe for a DIY scrub with simple ingredients as well, if you want to exfoliate before pampering yourself.
Want to make a mask that’ll tighten up your skin? Try this recipe. It combines all three ingredients into a thick paste that can be applied anywhere on the face, hands, or neck where someone first sees any signs of aging. It tightens up your skin and gives you an overall youthful feeling after rinsing.
This facial is meant for normal skin. Yogurt contains milk acid, that helps to get rid of the dead skin. Honey has an antibacterial and moisturizing effect, and avocado hydrates your skin. This facial leaves your skin feeling soft (and makes your face smell pretty good, too!).
What mask do you want to try?
I’ve done straight up baking soda before. it’s a great exfoliant however, if you have sensitive skin like me, do not exfoliate daily, it hurts and might leave your skin a little red on the more sensitive areas! I have heard egg whites are good for under eye bags, I have yet to try though!
I just want to EAT THEM ALL 🙂
Thanks for including one of my masks! I have a few other DIY masks and body scrubs on my site you might like, they’re in the “beauty” category. 🙂
the yoghurt, honey, egg and avocado one looks heavenly! i’d be tempted to eat it instead!
