3 Beauty Boosting Detox Drinks That Actually Taste Good

I like to think of myself as a healthy person, but sometimes I fall off the wagon and enjoy a few too many drinks, one too many sweet treats and far too many late nights. And when this happens, it doesn’t take long before my less-than-healthy behavior start to take its toll on my skin. Lucky me.

I mean, I wish I could blame my behavior on the holidays, but that is not always the case. And since the holidays are over, I guess I’m fresh out of excuses.

I always try my best to get back on a fit-kick but sometimes my body needs an extra boot in the behind to truly get me back on track.

Vitamins, minerals and antioxidants always seem to be the perfect cure, but it can be a challenge to consume as many as you actually need. So what better way to take in those good-for-you-ingredients than to drink them.

So without further adieu, I present to you lovely ladies my 3 favorite go-to beauty boosting detox drinks!

The Greener the Better

In just one cup of this tasty green juice you will get approximately 50% of your daily vitamin A and C intake.

All you need to make it are the following ingredients:

  • 2 large apples
  • 1 cup of kale
  • 1 cup of spinach
  • 2 stalks of celery
  • 1/3 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • ¾ cup filtered water
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • A blender

Once you have rounded up your supplies, simply follow these steps:

Step One: Using organic ingredients is best so be sure to rinse everything carefully to ensure there is no dirt or debris.

Step Two: Carefully de-core your apples. If you don’t regularly eat the apple skins, resist the urge to peel them off. Apple peels are rich with nutrients and once blended you won’t even notice the texture.

Step Three: Cut your apple, kale, spinach and celery into small, blender-friendly chunks. Add these and the remaining ingredients to the blender.

Step Four: After fastening the lid, blend on high until everything is pulverized and a nice smoothie consistency remains.

Step Five: Pour into a big glass and enjoy!

This detox drink is especially great for sun damaged wrinkle-prone skin. Not only do these ingredients help repair damage, but they further prevent it from happening. The high fibre content is also great for ridding your system of acne-causing toxins!

Fruits and Spice

To detoxify the junk out of your body and increase nutrient absorption, give this tasty treat a try.

All you need is:

  • 1 banana
  • ¼ inch fresh ginger
  • ½ cup mango
  • ¼ cup freshly squeezed orange juice
  • ¼ cup filtered water
  • A blender

From there, simply follow along:

Step One: Peel your banana and ginger. Place both in the blender.

Step Two: Cut up your mango and add it and the remaining ingredients to the blender as well.

Step Three: Blend on high until nice and smooth. Pour in a glass and slurp it back.

Mangoes are rich in beta-carotene which help give your skin a naturally radiant glow. Drink this enough and you can ditch those tanning beds for good! The other ingredients protect and prevent skin from damage and disease. Talk about a win-win!

One for the Winter Months

Rather than enjoying an early morning java hit, try substituting in this warm beautifying beverage instead. It may not taste as good as coffee but it will help to soothe any skin inflammation and flush the body of toxins that increase your likelihood of acne breakouts.

Just gather up:

  • 2 cups of freshly boiled water
  • ½ teaspoon turmeric
  • ½ teaspoon powdered ginger
  • A pinch of cayenne pepper
  • 5 drops of Stevia concentrate
  • Half of a freshly squeezed lemon

From there, just:

Step One: In a cup, mix your boiled water with all the ingredients. Stir until everything is dissolved.

Step Two: Sip carefully!

Re-beautifying yourself has never been easier. Each of these beauty boosting detox drinks costs under $5 and your skin will have never looked more radiant. Even in the dead of winter!

So next time you fall off the health wagon, think of these and hop right back on. Your skin will thank you for it.
