If you’re not feeling well, you may want to reach for a candy cane. Peppermint has been used for medicinal purposes since for centuries and has many health benefits. Various studies have shown that peppermint can relieve the symptoms of Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), allergies (hay fever), bad breath, chest congestion, and muscle pain. Peppermint can be taken orally as a dietary supplement or you can use it in an oil form. The oil form is most commonly used to treat dry skin.  Peppermint is a plant and you can also eat it in its natural state.
