Lastics is no-sweat, low-calorie burning stretch routine, but don’t think for a second that it isn’t an effective workout. The full-body stretch session uses your bodyweight to lengthen your muscles (and your mind) to new levels. Lastics is the perfect tune-up for your body so you can bring your higher intensity workouts to the next level.  It isn’t quite yoga, but its own genre of workouts all together that stretch you out while connecting your mind and body.

Lastics was designed by Donna Flagg, a trained dancer, who is a pro-bender from her past ballerina life. She took her skills from the dance floor and is now sharing the best techniques to stay limber and toned.

How it Works:

The beginning section of the DVD is a quick overview of how to get proper form with your stretches. This is incredibly important to get the most out of the rest of your stretch-athon. Donna reminds us that “bent is not stretched” and the best way to lengthen your muscles without kinking up. The first half of the stretch routine includes a lot of standing stretches and forward bends. The second half is full of stretched that are performed sitting and lying down. Donna spares no body part. She even has you stretching the top of your feet and your wrists so that you feel perfectly aligned from head to toe.

There are no menus to the DVD so the session just starts after inserting it in, however you can skip from one section to the next by fast forwarding so that you don’t have to commit to the entire 60-minute stretch session. Each section provides a mini comprehensive stretch routine so you will get the full body effect whether you start at the beginning or the end. The movements are small but effective.

What We Loved:

  • The DVD is full of unique poses we have never seen before.
  • The small details that Donna shares (like which way to tilt your head) really make a difference in the overall stretch.
  • One session really makes a difference. We can only imagine the huge improvements our body will see if we incorporate Lastics into the weekly routine.
  • Your whole body is engaged so you can become Gumby little by little.
  • You really become more aware of your body as you are gracefully contorted into bendy moves you didn’t know you had in you.
