Burn Those Holiday Calories With These Workouts

Indulging seems to be the name of the game during the holidays. We like to justify that slice of cake at our holiday parties for work and that extra glass of wine when out and celebrating with friends.

What we think? It’s totally ok to enjoy some treats in moderation and if you have a few extra just continue with your predominantly healthy eating and workout regimen. Your body is better at bouncing back then you think or feel it is!

Thinking about putting in some extra reps at the gym to balance out all those cups of eggnog or slices of pie? This video showcases just how much exercise it will take to burn off a few of your favorite indulgences.

For example, did you know that a 1/2 cup of hot chocolate equals 95 calories? It doesn’t sound so bad until you realize that to burn it off requires 20 minutes of high knee runs! And don’t get us started on eggnog. A half cup (with rum, of course) will run you up to 200 calories, requiring at least 1 hour of brisk walking. And, let’s be real, who only has a half cup of eggnog?!

This all being said, do we think you need to work off every single treat you eat? Absolutely not! It’s simply a fun video to watch to help you put all those extra sneaky servings into perspective.
